Dear SuperSouls,
We are continuing the Trevor Wisdom series. For those who missed Trevor Wisdom #1, here is the link.
Trevor is my beautiful 8-year-old Shorkie. He is attuned to Reiki Master level and continues to be one of the greatest teachers in my life. Animals are beautiful, conscious beings who inspire and uplift so many of us. Trevor is an important part of my home and my heart.
✨ Wisdom #2: Never go backwards!
Trevor has a very particular style when we go on our daily walks — he refuses to go backwards. In order to take a walk, there must be some form of circle created. Parking lots, crossing the street, looping the block… something where he does not have to simply do an about-face and reverse direction.
You can imagine — sometimes this is a nuisance when you just want to head back home. 🙂
One day, as I was attempting to make him turn around and go what he perceives as backward, his wisdom clicked.
💫 This is a powerful spiritual lesson.
Going backwards is what I often call spiritual slipping — sliding back into old habits, old relationships, old jobs, old comfort zones. We have all done it. Instead of onward and forward movement, progress halts.
And that is exactly what Trevor does.
The moment he senses “backwards”… he halts. 🐾“No way, Mom.”
Forward motion only.New ground only.Exploration only.
What if we all lived this way?
Now — there are times in life when we do revisit places, people, or situations. Let it come from forward-moving energy. Let it come from growth. Let your intention be progress.
Because something beautiful often happens when we keep moving forward…
✨ Full circle moments.
A full circle moment is a profound, often unexpected experience where life brings you back to something familiar after you have grown. The difference is perspective. You see the past with new wisdom, new clarity, and new understanding.
For me, these are the moments when Trevor and I arrive back home without a hitch — not because we went backwards, but because we honored the forward path.
Some days I let Trevor lead, and he always finds new little places to explore. In our home, we have learned to trust this Trevor Wisdom.
